realme has begun the global rollout of ColorOS 17, built on Android 17, for its latest smartphone lineup. The update fully replaces the former realme UI, delivering a fresh visual language and a reengineered system core.
The focus is on efficiency: the Luminous Rendering Engine merges rendering processes, cutting interface draw load by up to 30 % and trimming RAM usage for rendering by 25 %. The Laminar Flow Engine handles resource distribution between foreground and background tasks, boosting app launch stability by 55 % and speeding up gallery thumbnail loading by 50 %. Simulated six‑year usage tests show more than 90 % of original smoothness retained even with storage filled to 90 %.
The AI assistant AI Mind Pilot now features an agent mode that can, with a single request, gather flights, hotel bookings, tickets and photos into an organized travel plan. The built‑in AI Photo Agent offers automatic enhancements, text‑prompted edits, and style matching across images. Additionally, the OSee app recognizes plants, animals, dishes, QR codes and documents. The rollout is phased: ColorOS 17 reaches realme GT 8 Pro and GT 8 Pro Dream Edition on October 29, followed by GT 7 Pro, 16 Pro+ 5G and 16 Pro 5G on October 30. By the end of Q1 2027, 49 realme models will receive the update, while Russian‑market devices will get it later, depending on the model.
