Takuro Mizobe, head of Pocketpair, told VGC that the studio is eager to discuss releasing Palworld on the Nintendo Switch 2. He praised the new hardware as a "truly remarkable platform" that could broaden the game's reach, especially in Japan.

Back in June 2024, Mizobe admitted that the original Switch lacked the power to run Palworld. In March 2025, communications director John Buckley called the title "hardware‑hungry" but said a Switch 2 version was worth considering if the console’s specs proved sufficient. With Switch 2 now on the market and its capabilities clearer, the port looks more feasible.

The biggest hurdle remains a legal battle: Nintendo filed a patent‑infringement lawsuit against Pocketpair in September 2024, revising its claims in November 2025 to focus on earlier game builds. The developers have already removed contentious features like the summon‑sphere mechanic. The Tokyo District Court is set to release a preliminary ruling on November 9, and Mizobe has declined to comment while the case is pending. Palworld’s fate on Switch 2 hinges on the outcome of this dispute.
