During a live stream, the Soulframe team officially named the upcoming Preludes 17 update “Verse of the Veilands”. They stress that development is in full swing and players can expect sweeping changes tied to the ancient corruption Ode'n and a looming threat over Midrat.

The headline feature is the introduction of rideable creatures. Players will soon be able to transform their wolf pup into a fearsome Omen Wolf, with the transformation depending on player choices and accompanied by a cinematic sequence. Armor for wolves is already in the works, but it won’t arrive with this patch, and broader pet mechanics are slated for later.

Beyond rideable beasts, Preludes 17 will deliver new armor sets, weapon types, rooms, and locations, plus expanded voice acting and fresh music. While hints of new islands were dropped, they won’t appear in the immediate update – the current focus remains on the announced content.
